1.What's laminated glass?
Laminated Glass is made up of two or more layers of glass permanently bonded together with an interlayer (PVB / SGP / EVA) via a controlled, highly pressurized and industrial heating process. The lamination process results in the glass panels holding together in the event of breakage, reducing the risk of harm. Laminated Glass is classified as Grade A Safety Glass. There is several laminated glass types manufactured using different glass and interlay options that produce a variety of strength and security requirements.
When annealed glass is broken, it will break into shape pieces which is dangerous to humans. When tempered glass is broken, it will form small particles with obtuse angles. When laminated glass is broken, the glass particles will still adhere to the interlayer material. As are shown in below pictures. Generally speaking, laminated glass is safer than tempered glass and annealed glass.

Laminated glass can use non tempered glass or tempered glass for its “sandwiched” panels.
Is laminated glass bulletproof?
Multiple laminated glass with annealed glass has bulletproof function. It will depend on the layers & thickness of glass and interlayer material.
Is laminated glass soundproof?
Laminated glass has very good soundproof function. With noise deduction performance STC>37dB+. It can offer you a very quiet environment.
Is laminated glass better than tempered?
Normally yes. For the same thickness such as 12mm tempered glass VS 6+6mm tempered laminated glass. 6+6mm laminated glass can offer better strength and safety as well as acoustic performance.
Can laminated glass be cut?
For large sheets of annealed laminated glass, such as 6.38mm, 8.38mm, 10.38mm, etc. It is able to be further cut to customized sizes. But for those tempered laminated glass, it cannot be further processed anymore.
Can laminated glass be tinted?
Yes! Either you can use tinted glass for lamination or use colored interlayer material for laminated glass. Both can enrich your decoration effects.
